Directors and Managers Duties


The level of responsibility a person has as a manger, supervisor or director will depend on their position within an organization and the authority they are conferred. Some 'directors’ who sit on corporate boards with little direct control over the employee’s workplace are not likely to be held personally liable in employment claims unless they played a direct role in the employment action. Whereas officers, managers and supervisors are intimately involved in the employee’s workplace and are more likely to be individually named, and potentially liable, for conduct in the workplace.
