Employment Contracts

Introduction

One of the most basic aspects of the employment process is to ensure that a contract of employment is in place and is legally enforceable. As with all aspects of employment law, approaches to contracts can vary widely around the world and this section is designed to give an overview of some key issues to consider when entering into an employment contract in Ireland.

This section looks at such issues as basic requirements, restrictive covenants and breach of contract and should give you enough information to have a clear overview of the areas importance when entering into any employment agreement in Ireland.  Saying the wrong thing at an interview or in an offer letter, may lead to unanticipated contractual obligations.
