Health and Safety

Introduction

There are a number of New York laws and regulations governing the health and safety of employees.  Employers are required to follow regulations enacted by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and provide a safe workplace free of recognized hazards.  Employers are also required to provide workers’ compensation insurance, which provides cash benefits and/or medical care for workers who are injured or become ill as a direct result of their job.
