Employment Status

Introduction

As a general rule a citizen may be employed at the age of 16. There are exceptions that increase or reduce the age requirement for a number of job categories.

For example, admittance to harmful and dangerous jobs is allowed at the age of 18-21.

There is no established age limit for cinema, theater, TV and advertisement jobs.

The Labour Code of the Russian Federation provides for the following basic rights of an employee that lawfully belong to the employee and can be waived neither by employer`s internal rules and policies nor by employment contract.
